As soon as the Trump administration rejected this project, NASA reached Congress. Congress found this project so promising that they not only approved it but also increased its budget by 8%, the benefit of which was that now This telescope is going to do the work of four telescopes at once. This is a little technical but it is very simple. It has two instruments attached to it. One is a wide field instrument and the other is a corona graph. Now what is their work? It is simple to take photos. By hearing the name of the wide field instrument itself, you must have understood that its lens is a wide angle lens which can capture a major field of vision at one time. And that is why, while Hubble took 3 years to take this photo. This telescope has the capability to take it in just 90 minutes. And because of this instrument, we will be able to detect light coming from more than 13 billion light years away.

In the beginning, first of all all the scientists named it W First i.e. White Field Infrared Space Telescope but in 2018 after the death of Nancy Grace Roman the first female scientist of NASA, in 2022 NASA changed the name of this telescope to Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope in memorial. They wanted to tell the world how special this telescope is for them and they are very serious about it and they will never stop the story of these space telescopes which Nancy started 60 years ago from today. Matter of fact, if Nancy had not been recruited in NASA, we would have never thought of sending a telescope into space or we would have been greatly delayed. We would not have had the first picture of a black hole till date. Even exoplanets exist only in books. We would not have seen the oldest galaxy till date and we would not have predicted the age of the universe till now. Whatever revolution has come in the world of space telescopes is only and only because of Dr. Nancy.

Nancy was born in 1925, when girls were not educated much. At that time, Nancy completed her PhD in astronomy and joined NASA with her passion. It has to be placed at a place where the radiation coming from the Sun does not affect its observation and where it has to use very little fuel. Actually there are five such points between our Sun and Earth where the gravity of the Earth and the Sun cancels each other out. If you place anything at these points, it will remain there for centuries without moving. It will remain lying there because there is no force present there to influence it. All the external forces are getting cancelled out. But now the question arises, out of these five leg points, why specifically L2? Well, to understand this, look at this diagram. You can clearly see that L1, L3, L4 and L5 are such points which come in direct contact with the Sun and L2 is the only point which comes after the Earth. That is why our Earth will protect it from the Sun’s radiation and there will be negligible errors in its observations.

US government has given Musk a contract according to which Musk will make a jet for the US government.
